Forums and talks

Cognitive Confluence (CNF) is the Society’s running series of lectures, discussions, symposia and hands-on workshops, hosted with the Department of Neurophysiology at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, alongside the Cognitive Neuroscience Forums held in host institutes. Sessions are open to members, students and faculty.

Cognitive Confluence

The CNSI–NIMHANS lecture series and the Cognitive Neuroscience Forums run in four formats.

Cognitive Neuroscience Forums
Local scientific evening meetings, held once in two to three months at various institutes and followed by dinner. Each has a single talk by a renowned scientist on any topic in the realm of cognition, with emphasis on the latest research trends and new findings. The 2017 forums.
CNF talks
An invited speaker and an open discussion on a question at the edge of cognitive neuroscience, from the body and the self to the measurement of consciousness.
CNF symposia
One-day meetings where several speakers take up a method or theme in technical depth. The first surveyed current approaches to EEG analysis. Symposium 01.
Workshops
Multi-day, hands-on training for students and early-career researchers in recording, analysing and interpreting neurophysiological and behavioural data. Workshops held.
Who can attend
Members, students and faculty.
Talks at conferences
Invited talks at the Society’s meetings are listed with each conference.
