A scientific society for the study of brain and mind
The Cognitive Neuroscience Society of India was founded at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, in 2015. Its members are clinicians, researchers and engineers working in neurophysiology, neuropsychology, neurology, psychiatry, speech and language sciences, forensic neuropsychology and neurocomputing. They meet to share research, to teach, and to hold conferences.
“The Cognitive Neuroscience Society of India is the outcome of realization of the need for such multidisciplinary approach to the study of brain–mind… which will inspire and facilitate not only their own scientific pursuits but also offer the same to students, who are joining this challenging pursuit in their life.”
What the Society does
The Memorandum of the Society lists seven objectives. In practice the work falls into four areas.

How brain lesions, drugs and structural or functional interventions change cognition, and how cognitive control in turn changes brain physiology.
The Core Interest Groups -
Neurocognitive technology
Cognitive electrophysiology, functional neuroimaging, neuroelectronics and neurocomputing models of neurocognitive function, developed with industry and academic partners.
The symposium on EEG analysis -
Training
Workshops, seminars and lecture series in neurorehabilitation, neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience; neurocognitive enhancement programmes; travel support for students.

Forensic neuropsychology
The neurobiological origins of behaviour, the part social conditioning plays in developing behavioural control, and neurocognitive methods in forensic investigation.
